Listen to Live Music Lakeside
Sprawl across the beautiful Municipal Center Grounds while enjoying live music at the Village of Schaumburg’s Summer Breeze Concert Series on various Saturday evenings throughout the summer. Concert goers are welcome to bring picnic dinners, lawn chairs and blankets to the concert taking place on the grounds of the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center, 101 Schaumburg Ct. Enjoy the Outdoors at Volkening Lake
Don’t miss Volkening Lake’s beautiful scenery! The lake, located at 900 W. Schaumburg Rd., features sprawling walking paths and a fitness area that provides a full body workout including cardio, body weight machines and pull up bars. Canoe, kayak and paddleboat rentals are available to glide across the waters for an additional fee. This is the perfect place to step away from the hustle and enjoy the outdoors.
Stroll Through the Schaumburg Farmers Market
The Schaumburg Farmers Market , located at 190 S. Roselle Rd., is the place to be every Friday morning, rain or shine! Open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the end of October, the market showcases local and small businesses with unique products varying by season, including made-to-order crepes, empanadas, fresh produce, microgreens, flowers, and more. The market features live music and various theme days in addition to over 40 vendors to browse.
Step Back in Time at Volkening Heritage Farm at Spring Valley
Volkening Heritage Farm at Spring Valley, 201 S. Plum Grove Rd., takes visitors back in time to a rural German farm community of the 1880s. Participants can help with seasonal chores, family activities, visit livestock, and find peace in the calm, quiet environment. The farm hosts a variety of events and educational programs, ranging from campfires to German beer gardens. Entrance to the farm is free but there may be an additional fee with certain special events.
Hike the Trails of Spring Valley
Explore Schaumburg’s German heritage while getting in your steps! The Trails of Spring Valley, located at 1111 E. Schaumburg Rd., guide visitors to the Volkening Heritage Farm, Merkle Cabin, Bison’s Bluff Nature Playground and Vera Meineke Nature Center while passing through scenic landscapes, like the Illinois Heritage Grove or the Bob Link Arboretum. You’ll want to bring your camera when visiting Spring Valley!
Find Your Inner Photographer
Do you enjoy taking photos and think you have one worth sharing? Submit your favorite photos of the people, places, architecture and scenery found in the Village of Schaumburg to the village’s Schaumburg Snapshot photo submission program. Photographers of all levels and ages are invited to participate. Photo submissions will have the chance to appear in village publications, social media and the village’s website.
End The Summer at Schaumburg’s Septemberfest
One of the biggest events Schaumburg is known for is Septemberfest! End the summer season on a high note at this free, 3-day festival by going on carnival rides, checking out concession booths, sampling various food vendors, and enjoying live music across three stages! The festival takes place over Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 2-4 on the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center Grounds, 101 Schaumburg Ct. Check out all there is to do and see at Septemberfest online.
